MEASURE THE SAME WAY
Start with a garment you know.
These are garment measurements, not body measurements. Lay the piece flat and smooth it gently without stretching the fabric or gathered seams.
- Chest circumference
- Measure across the garment 1 cm below the armholes, then double the width.
- Waist circumference
- Measure across the narrowest waist point, then double the width.
- Hem circumference
- Measure edge to edge at the hem, then double the width.
- Body length
- From the shoulder point to the bottom of the side seam, not the lowest centre-front hem.
- Sleeve length
- From the sleeve crown seam to the finished sleeve edge, after the sleeve hem is folded.
